Dear Billie,
First of all, I would like to take this time to thank you, the scholarship
committee, and the Kansas City Quail Unlimited Chapter as a whole, for choosing
me as one of the scholarship recipients. I cannot describe in words how thankful
I am that organizations such as Quail Unlimited will take funding and create
scholarships such as this one to help students just like me, make their way
through college. I do believe that Quail Unlimited does the most in
creating/maintain our quail habitat, thus the reason I am so honored to have
received a scholarship from a organization of this caliber. I will be graduating
in May 08 and will be moving on from college into the real world as I have been
told. I do not know where I will end up or what I will be doing but hopefully I
will be forging wildlife habitat and agriculture together into common practice.
I am certain however, that wherever I end up I will be a active member in Quail
Unlimited. Currently I am so busy with class and work I am not able to be as
active as I would like to be but with my graduation hopefully more time for such
activities will be available.
I regret to inform you that I will not be able to attend the banquet on
September 17, 2007. With harvest currently taking place I am needed at work
more heavily than ever. On top of that, it seems the first round of exams for
the semester all seem to be scheduled for next week. I am very sorry but I hope
that you can pass this letter on to the other members of the chapter so they
too can know that I am very thankful for the scholarship and that I wish
everyone the best. Hopefully I can find a career with a organization such as
Quail Unlimited and can in a way repay the organization for the great
opportunity that has been bestowed on me. If any jobs such as this are known of
I would appreciate if I could be informed as I would like very much to be
employed by such an organization or affiliate.
Again, thank you very much for this opportunity.
Sincerely,
Scott Willingham
